The JUIN Tech F1 hybrid disc brake with flat mount is the addition to the R1 (post mount) and offers a unique solution for racing / gravel / cyclocross (CX) riders who want to upgrade from mechanical cable disc brakes to hydraulic brake calipers . The hybrid system offers the cyclist the option of replacing the mechanical brake caliper with a hydraulic 2-piston brake caliper while retaining the brake cables.
The brake pads of the JUIN hybrid brakes work with a cable-operated, closed hydraulic mineral oil system. This enables you to convert your bike to a hydraulic disc brake using the normal STI / Ergo levers (short pull levers). This reduces costs (no new brake fittings) as well as the time required and at the same time increases braking performance.
The braking performance is improved compared to a mechanical disc brake with simple pad and cable adjustment. In contrast to a mechanical brake, both brake pistons of the JUIN F1 move evenly in a movement parallel to the brake disc. The closed hydraulic system means that there is no need to bleed the brake, but it does require the pads to be readjusted from time to time using the adjusting screw on the master cylinder.
